So When You’re Cold…

So When You're Cold Quote

In case you haven’t heard, it’s cold. Very cold. Record-breaking cold for this time of year. Every social media site has been blowing up with my friends and followers alerting me to this fact. But we shouldn’t let the cold outside affect what we feel on the inside.

Winter is a very complex time of the year, when many people suffer from seasonal depression and sadness. It’s also when many people stay tucked away in their homes and become recluses. Let’s try something different together this year — let’s make an effort to be more connected.

January is the perfect time to take stock of your life. Haven’t worn those clothes all year? Donate them. Feeling unhealthy from all the holiday meals? Set up a workout schedule. Haven’t set up a Skype date with you BFF in awhile? Call her up.

This year let’s try to become more loving, healthier, kinder, and, most importantly, let’s make an effort to communicate better. Why are we afraid to call up our friends on the phone? Why do we fear being called a “creeper” if we post comments on old Facebook photos? Why don’t we share our thoughts when something touches our lives us in some way? Share the warmth of your friendship (starting now!) and your heart will keep you warm during this cold spell and on into 2014.

January Ipsy Glam Bag

I know it’s almost the end of January, but I am just now finally getting around to writing about my January Ipsy Glam Bag! It really was wonderful, and I am a devoted fan all over again. If you love your Birchbox, I strongly encourage you to check out Ipsy – you might even switch over like I did!

1- Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray (travel size, $6) / 2- Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil (To Go, $14) / 3- Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer in Bloody Mary ($13) / 4- Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Mini Body Butter (2.5 oz., $7) / 5- SOHO “Get a Grip” Crease Brush ($9)

I was a little disappointed with the Nailtini polish… very runny. As an Essie fanatic, I’m used to nail polish that delivers rich color without having to apply coat after coat, so I’m not sure I would buy another polish from Nailtini. However, the color is gorgeous!
The crease brush is a little floppy for my taste, although the handle has indentions that make it much easier to hold, so I did like that part.
My favorites are the body butter, volumizing hairspray, and argan oil – they have all held up really well over the course of long work days, and they all smell really nice! The argan oil is top notch, making my hair feel shiny and healthy for longer. I used the hairspray collaboratively with a lot of root teasing to achieve awesome volume for my otherwise super flat hair, and the body butter goes on so smooth and easy. Love all three of these products, and I would definitely look into either repeat buying or possibly finding slightly cheaper alternatives by the same companies!
And now for the codes – again, sorry they are so late, but most of them are good through February!
